Georgia Pediatric Program For Children (GAPP)

What is GAPP and who is Eligible?

Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP)is a Medicaid/Katie Beckett program that provides FREE or AT NO COST services to medically fragile or intellectually disabled children under the age of 21 who are in need of skilled Nursing Care and/or Personal Care support, in their homes. Services are approved based on the child’s medical needs, and families who are eligible for Medicaid can apply for GAPP at any time. The Child must be in the Medicaid or Katie Beckett / Deeming program to apply, and you as a parent can become our Caregiver and be paid for your child’s care.

Can I qualify if I do not meet the Medicaid Income Requirement?

Yes. Katie Beckett Waiver, or Deeming Waiver, is an eligibility category for Medicaid for children under the age of 18. The Katie Beckett Waiver takes parents’ income out of the picture and bases the decision on the child’s needs. If the child qualifies for the Katie Beckett Waiver, they become eligible for services available under the regular state Medicaid plan at Zero Cost to you.

What is the GAPP Approval Process?

A State Licensed Medical Professional (RN or LPN) from Hope Private In-Home Care first comes out to your home to meet with the child and parents for Initial Assessment.

⦁ The initial assessment concludes with the following:
⦁ An Assessment and Initial Paperwork of your child
⦁ Completion of a Consent form by the Parent for Medical Records.
⦁ Any other qualifying information to facilitate GAPP approval decision.
